I assume that the Deputy is referring to non-public roads which provide access to bogs.
Prior to 1984, grants were made available by my Department under the local improvements scheme for a variety of works, including the improvement of bog roads and farm roads. Since then, grants under the local improvements scheme have been confined to farm road projects which qualify for aid under the EC Western Package. I have no proposals for changing this arrangement.
