asked the Minister for Health if, in regard to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 140 of 18 April 1989, he will give a breakdown of the figures for 1987 and 1988 of inpatients and out-patients treated, for each acute general hospital, both public and voluntary in the country; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The breakdown requested by the Deputy in relation to acute hospital in-patient and out-patient activity is set out below. In comparing these figures regard must be had to the 15 per cent increase in day care activity in these hospitals in the relevant period.
