Vol. 389 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ballyroe (County Kildare) Water Supply.

85.

asked the Minister for the Environment when finance will be available to provide a water supply in the Ballyroe area of County Kildare in which area the present water supply is severely polluted and unfit for human consumption.

A proposal to provide an alternative water supply for the Ballyroe area was submitted to my Department by Kildare County Council in July 1988. In view of the high cost of the scheme in relation to the number of houses to be served, the county council have been asked to reconsider the proposal with a view to developing a more economic alternative.
