Vol. 389 No. 7

Written Answers. - Office of Public Works Functions Transfer.

130.

asked the Minister for the Marine when his Department will take over the running of certain sections of the Office of Public Works; when the necessary legislation will be introduced; and if he will ensure that the jobs of all the workers are safeguarded.

Arrangements to implement the transfer of certain functions in relation to harbours from the Office of Public Works to my Department are at an advanced stage. I expect that orders declaring Dunmore East and Howth to be fishery harbour centres under the Fishery Harbour Centres Acts, 1968-1980 will be executed in the near future.

A short Bill to provide for the transfer of Dún Laoghaire will be introduced very shortly.
