Vol. 389 No. 7

Written Answers. - Bull Island (Dublin) Amenity Order.

140.

asked the Minister for the Environment the recent status of preparations to make a special area amenity order to cover Bull Island, Dublin 3; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The making of a special amenity area order is a matter for consideration, in the first instance, by the elected members of the planning authority in accordance with the provisions of section 42 (1) of the Local Government Planning and Development Act, 1963, as amended. I am informed that Dublin Corporation are at present carrying out a detailed study of the Bull Island area and that part of the study includes an assessment as to whether it would be appropriate to make a special amenity area order for the area.
