The management, maintenance and improvement of these dwellings is the responsibility of the local authority. A preliminary proposal seeking funding under my Department's remedial works scheme, which provides assistance in certain cases, was received in February in respect of these houses. Cost and technical details of the proposed work are awaited and pending their submission and examination, I am not in a position to make a decision in the matter.
