Vol. 389 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Kerry Physiotherapy Services.

39.

asked the Minister for Health if he will take steps to have the out-patients physiotherapy department re-opened in Tralee General Hospital, County Kerry, in view of the great value of the service given in past years because of the difficulties which the absence of such a service will create for the people of Kerry and in view of the fact that this is a service provided countrywide.

The provision of services at Tralee General Hospital and health services generally in Kerry is the responsibility of the Southern Health Board in accordance with its statutory obligations. I understand that the board are examining the balance to be maintained between inpatient and out-patient physiotherapy at Tralee General Hospital.
