57.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the present position regarding the disability benefit payment of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Payment of disability benefit to the person concerned was disallowed from 11 April 1989 following examination by a medical referee who expressed the opinion that she was capable of work.

On 4 April 1989 she was notified of the result of the examination and the disallowance of benefit and was advised of her right to appeal the decision within 21 days. No letter of appeal has been received from the person concerned.
