asked the Minister for Health if it is his attention to give due consideration to an application from Muintir na Tíre (details supplied) in County Cork in respect of their request for funding from the national lottery; and, if so, if he will make a favourable decision on foot of their request.

I have received a large number of requests for assistance from the national lottery proceeds available for the health services including one from Muintir na Tíre in Cork. This application is under active consideration and I expect to reach a final decision in the near future. However, I must point out that in view of the limited lottery funds available to me in 1989 I will not be in a position to accede to all of the requests received.
