I presume the Deputy is referring to the position in long-stay geriatric health board hospitals. The bed position in such hospitals as between end 1987 and end 1988 was as follows: Eastern Health Board, +21 beds; Midland Health Board, –19 beds; Mid-Western Health board, –19 beds; North-Eastern Health Board, –9 beds; North-Western Health Board, –2 beds; South-Eastern Health Board, –9 beds; Southern Health Board, –9 beds; Western Health Board, +1 bed.
