asked the Minister for Defence the number of times which the review body established by him to examine the Defence Forces pay have met since they were appointed.

, Limerick West): The committee established in June 1988 met regularly in the period up to December 1988 for the purpose of examining and reporting on the pay, allowances and conditions of Defence Forces personnel. The committee are now established on a permanent basis and are required to meet as and when necessary to consider such matters affecting the pay, allowances and conditions of members of the Defence Forces as may be referred to them by the Government or by the Minister for Defence.
