The Central Applications Office is supplied with the results of the leaving certificate examination each year. The compilation and issue of examination results statistics, however, is a matter for the Examination Branch of my Department. Priority has been given to the running of the examinations and the issue of results in any year and the preparation of statistics has had to be postponed. Under computerisation, which it is planned to introduce this year, statistics will be readily available each year.
