, Limerick West): As regards Part (1) and Part (8) of the question the organisation, role and structure of the FCA and the Slua Muirí have been and continue to be the subject of a detailed examination in the context of the Defence Policy Review to ensure that these elements of the Reserve Defence Force will have the capacity to fulfil their respective roles. However, pending completion of this examination it has been possible to implement a restructuring of the officer ranks in the FCA in order to bring it more into line with the structure in the Permanent Defence Force.

The other information sought by the Deputy is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
