Vol. 390 No. 1

Written Answers. - Howth (Dublin) Pier Site Applications.

100.

asked the Minister for the Marine if he will give details of all applications pending for sites of Howth Pier and west of the pier, County Dublin; the number of sites released by his Department; the nature of the proposed use of the sites released; and the way in which they are fish or port related.

The number of applications pending for sites on the West Pier, Howth, and on the reclaimed area at the back of the pier is 31.

No sites will be released by my Department until arrangements are finalised to declare the harbour a fishery harbour centre, under the Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968.

The general policy of my Department would be that available sites be leased to concerns involved in the fishing and port related industry and activity.
