On 28 April 1989, the latest date for which information is available, there were 606 persons on the live register at Macroom local employment office.
The number of males and females on the live register at each local office in the State on the last Friday of each month is now published by the Central Statistics Office. This new analysis was initiated in January 1989 and copies of the monthly release are available in the Dáil Library.
