The ownership of amenity areas and facilities passed to Coillte Teoranta with effect from 1 January 1989. The company is expected to develop these while operating within commercial criteria. I will be carefully monitoring their proposals in this regard and will, if necessary, have discussions with the Department of the Environment and local authorities.
