Vol. 390 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Wicklow Bog.

48.

asked the Minister for Finance the measures he intends to take to safeguard Liffey Head Bog in County Wicklow from threats similar to those operating in western Ireland.

Liffey Head Bog is an area of scientific importance being a mountain blanket bog type. The Department of Energy, which grant aids private forestry, is aware of the scientific importance of this area and would therefore take this aspect into account in dealing with any applications for grant-aid for private industry.
