Vol. 390 No. 3

Written Answers. - FÁS Work Experience Schemes.

50.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of unemployed persons involved in FÁS work experience schemes, who are employed by private companies; and if he will give details of the companies involved.

The work experience programme involving young people being up to six months on an employer's premises ceased in 1987.

A work experience element is an integral part of a number of existing FÁS training courses. Details of the number of trainees and the companies involved relate to the day-to-day activities of FÁS. I would suggest therefore that the Deputy contact FÁS directly in the matter.
