Vol. 390 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Care Facility.

63.

asked the Minister for Health whether arrangements have been reached for the accommodation of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 who has special care needs; and the reason for the delay in the opening of the facility in Lusk, County Dublin which is likely to accommodate this person.

Accommodation for the person referred to by the Deputy is presently being provided at St. Paul's Special Residential School, Beaumont. I have been informed by the Eastern Health Board that this person will continue to be accommodated there until alternative arrangements can be made. The board have made arrangements for the building of special residential bungalows in the Lucan area and the placement of this person will be a priority.

Negotiations are at an advanced stage for the provision of similar facilities in Lusk, County Dublin, and the Eastern Health Board expect that both facilities will be ready by the end of this year.
