In 1986 sketch plans for a major extension to Rathcoffey national school, County Kildare were submitted to the Department but it was not possible for the project to proceed because of the cost involved.
My Department is considering the question of the project's proceeding on a modified basis and a decision on the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible. I am not in a position to indicate at this point a timescale for the project or when building works will commence.
