Vol. 390 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Waterford National Teacher's Pension.

113.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in granting an allowance to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford for Ard Teastas le hOnóracha; and when a decision will be made.

The pension of the person in question has, since her retirement from the national school teaching service in 1973, been based on the maximum reckonable 40 years service and on a pensionable salary which is comprised of the maximum of the salary scale, the lowest point on the principal's allowance scale and the standard allowance for the Ard-Teastas Gaeilge qualification.

This is the pension to which she is entitled, according to the information available to my Department.

If the reference to Ard Teastas le hOnóracha is to a different qualification, additional details — precise title, date of award and institution or authority which made the award, or a copy of the certificate itself — should be supplied so that my Department can consider the matter further.
