Vol. 390 No. 4

Written Answers. - Land Transference

39.

asked the Minister for Justice the reason a transfer of land cannot be completed by the Land Registry for persons (details supplied) in Country Kerry until 1990.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application was finalised on 19 May 1989. The application was for the registration of a transfer order which was lodged in the Land Registry on 13 March 1989.

As there is a large backlog of such applications awaiting attention priority could be given to one application only at the expense of other applications. The applicants, however, were able to establish reasons for urgency in this case on the 18th April 1989 and in pursuance of the registry's policy of expediting cases in this category it was possible to have it finalised on the date I mentioned.
