I propose to take Questions Nos. 30 to 49 inclusive, together.

Agriculture officers of my Department have completed the first part of the survey of the Ballyarthur, Mitchelstown, Dangan-Ardagh, Youghal, Water-grasshill-Kildinan-Bartlesny, Araglen, Rahan-Kilavullan, Corrin Hill, Fermoy Ballinaglough West, Carrignavar, Glenville, Glashaboy Mountain, Carrignavar, Caherduggan South-Dromdeer-Doneraile, Fiddane Mountains-Mourne Abbey, Croughervoe-Glendull-Skehan-Mitchelstown, Ballygiblin, Mitchelstown, Cloonlough, Mitchelstown, Ballyhooley, Killikane-Kilcronat-Tallow-Caherderdring-Curraghalla (Mitchelstown) areas of County Cork. Land Commission inspectors will complete the second part of the survey of those areas by October 1989 as planned.

Part of Glanworth East-Kilworth and Nagle Mountain areas have been surveyed. My Department have difficulty in tracing the areas of Corroghuran, Burntoot and Ballymock. If the Deputy supplies further information on the areas he has in mind my Department will check the position in those areas.

The main criteria to be met by an area before it can be designated as disadvantaged are set out in Directive 75/268.

The survey of all the areas in the country that have asked to be included in the survey will be completed by October. The results of the survey will then be analysed and it is intended that the areas found suitable for reclassification or inclusion in the disadvantaged areas can be submitted to the EC Commission before the end of 1989.
