Vol. 390 No. 6

Written Answers. - Patient's Treatment in Dublin Hospital.

35.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the experience of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin during a visit to St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin 4 in November, 1988; and if he will take steps to ensure that the circumstances outlined will not recur.

I have been in contact with the hospital authorities and from the information I have received they are satisfied that the person in question received appropriate medical treatment during her visit to St. Vincent's Hospital.

In regard to the complaint about the dirt of the Casualty Department, the hospital authorities have informed me that unfortunately this can happen as a result of members of the public throwing litter on the floor. I have also been assured that all trolley mattresses are quite new and untorn.
