Vol. 391 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - National Park Proposals.

1.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received submissions from interests in County Kildare regarding the possible designation of the Curragh, County Kildare as a national park; if he will support such a proposal having regard to its educational, cultural and amenity merits; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

While I am aware of a suggestion that the Curragh lands should be developed as a national park, no proposals in the matter have been received in my Department. I will arrange to have full consideration given to any proposals that are submitted.
