Vol. 392 No. 2

Written Answers. - OPW Employee.

42.

asked the Minister for the Marine the reason an employee of the Office of Public Works (details supplied) in County Cork is only getting £1.33 per month gross pension as he was employed by the Office of Public Works for seven years.

The individual concerned is in receipt of a pension under the superannuation scheme for non-established State employees. The scheme awards a retirement pension calculated at 1/80th of pay less twice the rate of the social welfare contributory old age pension for each year's service. Based on his rate of pay his pension entitlements are as indicated. This amount is paid in addition to his contributory old age pension of £56.80 per week. The individual was also paid a retirement lump sum of £966.90 when he ceased employment in March 1982.
