Vol. 392 No. 5

Written Answers. - Kilkenny Army Barracks.

26.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will have additional maintenance staff made available at James Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, where there is an understaffing problem at present; the steps which will be taken to improve the situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are 15 civilian employees on the maintenance staff of the barracks. The policy of reducing public service numbers generally has resulted in some vacancies there not being filled. The position will, however, be kept under review.
