Vol. 392 No. 7

Written Answers. - Career Guidance Facilities.

197.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make arrangements to ensure that career guidance facilities are available in schools during the period immediately after the issue of leaving certificate results, as it is at this time that students have to make the most critical career decisions.

The provision of career guidance in schools is aimed at providing advice and guidance to pupils well in advance of their sitting the leaving certificate examination. In view of the fact that schools are closed for summer vacation in the period immediately after the issue of the leaving certificate results, the Deputy's suggestion is not feasible.
