Vol. 392 No. 7

Written Answers. - Coillte Teoranta Headquarters.

26.

asked the Minister for Energy if he supports the case for location of all or part of the headquarters of Coillte Teoranta in Castlerea, County Roscommon; and, if so, if he will seek the approval of the Government for the case.

The location of Coillte's headquarters is primarily a matter for that company, having regard to its evolving organisation requirements.

While Coillte's headquarters are at present in Dublin, it already has seven divisional offices, two being in Sligo and Galway, and the great majority of its staff already work in provincial and rural locations.

It is likely that the company's core functions will remain in Dublin (in close contact with Government Departments, financial institutions and business organisations), although the decentralisation of more staff to the divisional offices is being considered in the context of the company's organisational review.
