Vol. 392 No. 7

Written Answers. - Sheep Farmers.

62.

asked the Taoiseach the number of sheep farmers in the country; and the average flock size.

The estimated total number of sheep in June 1989 was 7.729 million and the most recent indications are that there were approximately 50,000 farmers with sheep. The average size of flock is therefore estimated at 155 in June 1989.
