Vol. 392 No. 8

Written Answers. - Mallow, New National School.

120.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed new national school at Baltydaniel, Mallow, County Cork; if, in view of the condition of the present school, she will give, as promised by her Department in December of 1989, priority attention to the new project; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I accept that conditions in Baltydaniel national school, County Cork, are not satisfactory. Sketch plans for the provision of a new school have been completed by my Department's architect and sent to the school authorities to enable them to apply for planning permission. When satisfactory planning permission has been received and title to the site secured by the school authorities, the preparation of tender documents will be put in hands.
