Vol. 392 No. 8

Written Answers. - Bovine TB and Brucellosis Scheme.

56.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will accept that there is a five and a half month delay in paying depopulation grants to farmers under the Bovine TB and brucellosis scheme; and if he is satisfied with this situation in view of the dramatic consequences it has for many farmers.

The director of ERAD has informed me that there is no delay in the payment of depopulation grants under the TB and brucellosis eradication scheme beyond the normal time span of four to five weeks required for the processing of these payments. Delays may occur in specific cases for reasons outside the control of ERAD.
