asked the Minister for Health the number of ophthalmic surgeons who are employed in (a) the Mater Hospital, Dublin 7, (b) the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, Adelaide Road, Dublin 2; the number of beds there are for eye patients in these hospitals; the total number of eye operations in these hospitals for each year from 1985 to 1988, inclusive; and the total cost of the eye department in both hospitals in those years.

The information requested by the Deputy is set out below.
