Vol. 392 No. 8

Written Answers. - Richmond Hospital, Dublin.

103.

asked the Minister for Health if he will allow part of the old Richmond Hospital on North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7 to be reopened as a community hospital on the lines of Baggot Street Hospital, Dublin 2.

I am advised that the existing buildings at the Richmond Hospital are not adequate in the long term for acute hospital care. Consequently, the Government have decided to offer the site for sale.

The question of the provision of community hospitals is currently under consideration in consultation with the Eastern Health Board.
