At the request of my Department, the Garda Síochána asked motorists on "Garda Patrol", RTÉ Television — 1 June 1989, to use properly rear fog lamps at night. My Department will continue to liaise with the gardaí to secure the co-operation of motorists in the proper use of both rear fog lamps and headlamps in traffic at night.
