Vol. 393 No. 1

Written Answers. - Town Commission Boundary.

213.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will report on the present Town Commission Boundary of Balbriggan, County Dublin; and in this regard if he will make the necessary orders to extend same, prior to the next local elections, in order to take account of recent housing development in the town.

An application for the extension of the boundary of Balbriggan town is under consideration in my Department at present. This matter is being considered, inter alia, in the context of the proposal to establish a select committee of the Oireachtas to examine and report on the whole position of local authority funding, functions and structures, including structures in the Dublin area.

214.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Notification of completion of the work is awaited.

215.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the house improvement grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A further inspection will be carried out as soon as possible to establish if a grant can be paid to the applicant.
