asked the Minister for Health if he is concerned at the allegation made in the High Court last March that a private patient was operated on without her consent by the neurosurgical service in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9 and without the consent of her consultant; and the steps he intends to take to deal with this matter and to prevent any recurrence.

I am aware of the allegations made but no complaint, formal or otherwise, has been made to me. As matters stand this is an issue between the patient and the medical staff involved in the first instance.
