The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available to my Department.
However, apart from a small number of specialist teachers, all secondary teachers have subjects in their degree which qualify them to teach more than one subject. I am satisfied that the meeting of a demand for Latin is not hampering the needs of any other subject.
