Vol. 393 No. 1

Written Answers. - Robertstown (Kildare) Sewerage Scheme.

62.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will make the necessary funds available to Kildare County Council for the implementation of the Robertstown sewerage scheme; if his Department and the local authority have agreed on trial specification in respect of this scheme; if his attention has been drawn to the urgent necessity for the implementation of this scheme having regard to pollution caused by the lack of facilities; when he expects work on the project to commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Revised proposals for a sewerage scheme to serve Robertstown were submitted to my Department by Kildare County Council in July 1989. Additional technical information was requested to enable a proper appraisal of the scheme to be carried out. This information has now been received from the county council on 6 November 1989 and is being examined. The provision of finance for the scheme does not arise at this stage.
