Vol. 393 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water Schemes.

77.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide finance for the Effin group water supply scheme in County Limerick.

My Department will provide finance for this group scheme by way of State grants and a special contribution to meet the costs of the additional and upsized watermains as specified by Limerick County Council.

78.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will allocate the necessary finance to Roscommon County Council to commence construction of the North Roscommon regional water scheme extension to Fairymount; and if he will make a statement on the future development of the project.

184.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will bring forward the sanction of the Fairymount extension to the North Roscommon regional water scheme for inclusion in the 1990 Capital Sanitary Services Programme of his Department instead of in 1991 as notified to Roscommon County Council.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 78 and 184 together.

Contract documents for this scheme have been submitted by Roscommon County Council and are under consideration in my Department. Additional contract documents are awaited from the council before any decision can be made in relation to the proposal which must take into consideration the existing level of commitments and the capital funds available to the programme.
