Allocation of Time: Motion.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders—

(1) the Dáil shall meet at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, 1st December, 1989, and shall adjourn not later than 4 p.m.; and

(2) in the case of the motion in the name of the Minister for Finance regarding the 1990 Estimates for Public Services (Abridged Version) and the 1990 Summary Public Capital Programme, the following shall apply:—

(a) the speech of the main spokes-person for each of the groups (as defined in Standing Order 89 (1)) shall not exceed 40 minutes in each case;

(b) the speech of each other Member called on in the course of the debate shall not exceed 20 minutes;

(c) the Minister for Finance shall be called on not later than 3.45 p.m. on Friday, 1st December, to conclude the debate; and

(d) the Question or Questions necessary to bring the proceedings thereon to a conclusion shall be put from the Chair forthwith and successively not later than 4 p.m. on that day; provided that if a division is demanded, the taking of such divisions shall be postponed until 6.45 p.m. on Tuesday, 5th December, 1989.
