Vol. 394 No. 1

Written Answers. - War-time Emergency Plans.

150.

asked the Minister for Justice if his Department are represented on the Inter-Departmental Committee that has been established for the overseeing of preparation and implementation of plans to deal with a war-time emergency; and if, in his area of responsibility, adequate productive capacity for, and stores of, goods necessary for life in order to enable Ireland to maintain a policy of neutrality are in existence in order to provide against the possibility of an armed conflict.

Both my Department and the Garda Síochána are represented on the Inter-Departmental Committee which oversees the preparation of plans to deal with a war-time emergency.

With regard to the second part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to the reply given by the Tánaiste on 22 November to a question on the same topic, see column 1310.
