The draft Bill to establish a Radiological Protection Institute and abolish the Nuclear Energy Board was approved by the Government recently. However, the opportunity has recently arisen to incorporate in the Bill some additional provisions of an operational nature to enable Ireland to ratify certain international conventions in the nuclear field. I expect the Bill to be printed and circulated shortly.
