Vol. 394 No. 3

Written Answers. - Appointment of Teacher.

86.

asked the Minister for Education, having regard to the serious situation which is being created as a result of the loss of a teacher at Belvelley national school, Cork, if she will reappoint a further teacher to assist the teacher who is at present teaching children from the age of four years to 12 years.

The authorised staffing for Belvelley (Fota Island) national school for the 1989-90 school year warranted by the enrolment on 30 September 1988 is principal only.

The post of first assistant was suppressed on 31 August, 1989, Under the agreed staffing arrangements for national schools the reappointment of first assistant teacher in the school could not be sanctioned in the current school year.
