asked the Minister for Education the reason non-academic/non-union general workers were not afforded the same degree of latitude with respect to redeployment and redundancy payments as were unionised academic staff at Carysfort College, County Dublin.

The Voluntary Redundancy/ Early Retirement Scheme is available to all members of the staff of Carysfort College. Similarly, the commitment given to college staff regarding continued payment of salary, based on the willingness of the staff to be flexible in regard to accepting what would be generally regarded as reasonable redeployment opportunities, applies equally to all staff.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give a breakdown of the numbers and grades of staff redeployed from Carysfort College, County Dublin; if she is satisfied that all offers of redeployment made were fair; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A total of 45 staff have been redeployed from Carysfort College to date; the breakdown by grade is as follows:
