Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Restoration of Dublin Building.

5.

asked the Taoiseach if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Dublin Council of Trade Unions have made an application to the National Heritage Council for financial assistance for their project to restore 44 Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin 1; when the National Heritage Council proposes to respond to the application in order to enable the Dublin Council of Trade Unions to undertake the restoration and rehabilitation of this historic and architecturally impressive building; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that the National Heritage Council have an application from the Dublin Council of Trade Unions for assistance towards the cost of work at 44 Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin 1. The council sought more detailed information about the proposed work on 2 June 1989 but this has not yet been received. When the necessary information is available the application will be considered again by the National Heritage Council.
