I propose to take Questions Nos. 38 and 57 together.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that statistics for 1989 are not yet available. For the previous three years the number of prosecutions initiated for selling intoxicating drink to persons under 18 years of age was six in 1986, 21 in 1987 and 29 in 1988 and the number of persons prosecuted in the same period for selling intoxicating drink to persons under 18 years of age was six in 1986, 16 in 1987 and 26 in 1988.
