Question:296 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Justice the number of incidents of abuse of the postal voting system of which he is aware which occurred between 1974 and 1985, inclusive; and the number of prosecutions which followed.
Written Answers. - Abuse of Postal Voting System.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that in the period 1974 to 1985, inclusive, there were seven recorded incidents involving alleged abuse of the postal voting system and that prosecutions were instituted in respect of three of these incidents.
