Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Blarney (County Cork) Garda Station.

Bernard Allen

Question:

300 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice if there are any plans to open the Garda station in Blarney, County Cork after 5.30 p.m. each day in view of the increased level of vandalism in the area.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that Blarney station is open from 10 a.m. to midnight on Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and that there are no proposals at present for any extension of these opening hours.

The Garda authorities inform me that a number of youths have been made amenable in respect of recent vandalism to Blarney national school, but that, in general, vandalism is not a recurring problem in the area.
