Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

John Bruton

Question:

329 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

330 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will reconsider the decision to refuse a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare on the grounds that the person concerned misunderstood the question on the original grant application form, having been informed that he could not qualify for a mortgage subsidy until he spent a year in his new home; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The applicant did not apply for a mortgage subsidy. His mortgage deed was executed on 12 May 1980 and consequently he did not qualify for the subsidy which was payable only in respect of mortgages created on or after 10 April 1981.
